RMD transfer

Does it make sense to transfer securities from my IRA to my trust in order to satisfy my current year RMD? I don't need the cash and this way I will continue to receive the dividend income. Other than paying ordinary income tax on the IRA withdrawal/transfer, would this action create any other adverse tax consequences?

The IRS doesn't care what you do with the RMD once it is distributed ... all they care about is you take the money out.
