How to list property for section 179?

I tried to edit 4562 directly but it won't let me edit it. I tried walking through all options for rental properties and there never is an option for listing in section 179. The only online instructions I found assume you already have a schedule C but I do not have one yet for the rental properties. I want to list on line 2 of 4562 for section 179. I see no way to do this.

You cannot claim a Section 179 deduction for residential rental properties. It's specifically excluded by the IRS. See Publication 946 How to Depreciate Property for more information.
