Okay so I do have a few questions I’ll try to keep it organized as possible
First I am not self employed but I am a union carpenter who drives all over the state of Ohio from job site to site and I have read online that if you do not have a permanent job site you can write off your milage which I am currently driving 160 miles per day which would be nice to write off next year
- so my first question is am I qualified to write these miles off?
- if so where do I do that when filing / can I do that under the free edition
- also when keeping track of this milage what is needed to do this ? Per say milage per day ( miles driven that day plus odometer readings / gas receipts etc )
just so everyone knows I’m 19 years old and only my second time filing so deep explanations would be much appreciated thanks everyone !!

You posted that you are not self employed so you must be an employee and get a W-2. In that case you can’t deduct mileage. You might ask your employer for a mileage allowance.
