Where does the mortgage credit certificate come from

does it come from the bank lender, the closing company, the city or someone else? I have all the documents that i was issued during and after closing. but this form is new to me.

This is a federal form issued to you by the financial institution handling your transaction. Depending on what state you are in the MCC qualifies you for a reduction in mortgage interest to help make your housing payment more affordable.
