You will get a much better deduction if you list them as work-related expenses -- this assumes that these expenses are ordinary and necessary for your type of work.  It depends on what your work actually is.

Sorry, the other thing is that you must incur the expense only because of work.  You can't deduct a personal expense as a work expense unless the only reason you have the expense is due to work.

For example, if audited, the IRS would probably not allow a deduction for influenza vaccination, since that is recommended for everyone anyway and you probably would have gotten one even if not required for work.  But if you need some exotic vaccines that you would not have gotten except for the work need (such as, you work in a medical laboratory, or you work with animals on a farm or veterinary clinic, or your work requires you to travel to parts of the world requiring non-standard vaccinations) then it would be an allowable work expense.
