When writing off expenses for home office is the amount per month or the year?

You should enter your amounts for the entire year. Based on the applicable dates you provided, TurboTax will calculate the related amounts.

Note, the first screens will ask about expenses for the entire home and the second entry of expenses will be specifically related to your home office (and therefore 100% deductible).
