I e-filed my daughter's (non-dependent - separate return) Federal return a couple days ago, and it has been accepted. Our (myself and wife) taxes are not filed yet.
Since then, I have changed how we allocate Premium Tax credits regarding an ACA Market Place account my wife and I share with her. I was splitting 67% us, 33% her, but realized the financial benefit of making that 100% us, 0% her.
She had a refund coming, which goes down, but it's still a refund.
When can I go in and amend her taxes with the 1040X form?
The info I can find on here refers to older situations where the 1040X was not available in the software yet, and the advice then was to sit tight, wait for the refund to come through, then amend.
Is that still the correct sequence since the 1040X is now in the software?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you should always wait till you receive the refund first, and then amend your tax return if necessary. The same still applies even if the 1040-X form is already available.
