What is a maximum contribution to HSA for individual plan for a person turned 55 in 2023, married, filing jointly? Is it $3,850 or $4,850 (as $3,850+ $1,000 ) ?

What is a maximum contribution to HSA for individual plan for a person turned 55 in 2023, married, filing jointly? Is it $3,850 or $4,850 (as $3,850+ $1,000 ) ?

The HSA contribution limits for 2023 are $3,850 for self-only coverage and $7,750 for family coverage. Those 55 and older can contribute an additional $1,000 as a catch-up contribution.

So for an individual plan it is $3,850 + $1,000 = $4,850.
