I am not itemizing deductions and the amount of the Standard Deduction that is showing up on line 8 is $ 13,600. However, I do not believe that this amount is a valid amount for a Standard Deduction. I would appreciate any insight into how the $ 13,600 is showing up on line 8.

If you are over 65 or blind, the standard deduction for filing single or married filing separately would be $13,600 ($12,000 for single or married filing separate, plus $1,600 for either over 65 or blind.)
