The windshield on my new car was broken in 2018 by shots from a pellet gun while I was driving. Can I deduct the $500 deductible as a casualty loss? How?

Casualty losses are no longer deductible except for federally declared disasters.  And even before that, the high deductible and 10% threshold would have made it impossible to deduct so small a loss.
