Sold my home, cap gain is less than required to report. claiming prop.tax deduct, etc., should I report home sale home sale because of deducts?

Sold my home, cap gain is less than required to report. claiming prop.tax deduct, etc., should I report home sale home sale because of deducts?

If the gain on the sale of your home is less than the amount of the exclusion, you do not need to report the gain.  You can still report mortgage interest and real estate taxes that were paid for the home in the year you sold the home .

If the gain on the sale of your home is less than the amount of the exclusion, you do not need to report the gain.  You can still report mortgage interest and real estate taxes that were paid for the home in the year you sold the home .
