My wife is self-employed, and I am retired. We file jointly, and we would like to take the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction. We have separate health insurance policies. Both policies were signed up through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Since we signed up for the policies while we were logged into www.healthcare.gov under my id, my name appears in line 4 (Recipient's name) for my wife's 1095-A. Does it matter? Only my wife's name appears on her health insurance card and in all communications with her health insurance provider, including bills. Can we still deduct my wife's health insurance premiums using the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction?
Btw, since I thought this may be an issue, we signed up for our 2023 health insurance under my wife's healthcare.gov id....

If you are married and filing a joint return it is no problem at all. Even if you file separate, as long as you can show the relationship you can deduct the healthcare premiums as the business expense.
