Why does turbo tax show that my federal refunds are the same whether I itemize or use the standard deduction even though my itemized deductions are $1916 more?

It could be that your tax is zeroed out either way.

I selected the option to pay my state taxes out of my bank account, so why does TurboTax show it came out of my federal refund? Am I paying my state taxes twice? Why?
