My sister and I owned vacant land which we sold in 2019 at a loss. Can we both claim the $3000 yearly loss?

As long as you are each claiming only your portion of the loss (your half of the sale price minus your half of the basis, if it was a 50/50 ownership), then you each can deduct up to $3000 capital loss per year on your own returns.

someone stole my sisters refund after it was deposited into her phone they stoler her phone and drained her account but she paid for the full turbo tax package. would that be covered under the insurance agreement and how do we file a claim
