Why do you think you are paying double?

The gross up was added to his W2 box 1. The company has already paid out over 13,000 in taxes to the IRS. Not sure where or how to reflect this on the return.

Enter his W-2 exactly as is into TurboTax.  It sounds like his company has reimbursed his moving expenses.  Such reimbursements are considered taxable income, and are properly included in Box 1 of the employee's W-2.

Post back if this doesn't answer your question.

Moving expenses are no longer deductible, with the only exception being active duty military members moving due to military orders.
