Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I've added the sale of an inherited property. Turbo Tax keeps telling me at the end "It turns out you can't take a loss on personal use property." How can I change this?

I don't understand why it is telling me it is considered a personal use property. I don't get any questions about the use of it. (It is not personal use and I should get capital loss.)

Did you hold the property for a period of time between inheriting it and selling it?

What was the basis and fair market value when you inherited it?

What did it sell for?
