Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Seriously this is super annoying! I know who I am not using for my taxes next year! Someone from TurboTax needs to clear everything up. Also they need to fix the date of Feb 20th 2019 as that was last year.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Today I updated the TT software and didn’t change anything else other than efile again. Rejected.....again. Why are we using TT vs H&R. I keep reading H&R users are having no problems. Can we request a refund and switch over at this point?

I tried getting a hold of TT on Twitter and they haven’t replied to me in 2 days.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Ok - Back to pending status now in TT after the updated forms and revisiting the PHEV sections again.  Crazy thing is this issue did not impact my Honda Clarity PHEV situation at all.  The resulting paperwork looks exactly the same as the first time I filed.....  Hopefully acceptance is the next step....  Time to wait two more days......

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Same here.  Whatever they did in this Feb 20th update, didn't work.  rejected again.  Fail.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

The date they had on their statement linked earlier was actually 2/21 and not 2/20 as it said in Turbo Tax itself. I'll make the assumption that 2/21 should be updated and safe (once I run the update of TT) and then re-file. Doing it today seems a huge waste of time, but clearly Intuit mangled this up real good!

Rejection #2. Haven’t had this bad luck, since I was in High school, 😂.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

The Tesla forum has rejections after the update too. WE SHOULD WAIT TILL 2/21!!!!  And would it kill Intuit to chime in here?

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

This time is you guys' fault, TT told you wait until "February 20th, 2019", but you guys didn't follow.

I know "February 20th, 2019" will never come again.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Think I have it figured out (probably not)

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

It gets worse:

from the tesla forums:

NOTE TO ALL: TT has still NOT fixed the problem, so you might want to sign up at this link to get an update when it will be fixed. Just spoke with TT Supervisor and she said "might fixed by this Monday" the 24th, what a joke.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Call them on the phone and get a supervisor, and they can issue you a credit.

If thousands of us stop using TT and go to others like H&R Block, maybe they will get their act together.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

@jcoop12 are they issuing a credit for their blunders and you still plan on using TT, or they are refunding you and deactivating your license and you are going to H&R Block?

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

Updated and efiled last night. Got reject message this morning. Logged back into software and it had me efile again. Not hopeful.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

I only use the TT online account each year and pay as I go, I don't have a subscription.  I'm willing to wait a day or two, but if by Feb 24th it's not 100% fixed, my record with the TT Supervisor I spoke with is that I'll get a full refund and will file elsewhere.  First major screw up I've had with TT in +20 years.  They will lose thousands of customers over this.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Form 8936 (2019)

It will likely get rejected as mine did this morning,  but if yours goes thru, please let the whole group know with a reply later today or tomorrow.  Thanks.
