Can i still claim my child on my taxes

Can i still claim my child on my taxes after they were taken a month after birth by cps. Ok so my daughter was born in July of this year due to her doctor being misleading with me and my wife cps came and took our daughter from us a month after my daughter was born. We weren't given a chance with her. She wouldn't take breast milk so we had just switched to formula a few days before she was taken from us. Can me and my wife still claim her on our upcoming taxes?

Can i still claim my child on my taxes

Q. Can i still claim my child on my taxes?

A. No.

Just being you biological child is not enough. To be a "qualifying child" for taxes, the child must usually live with you for more than half the year.  A child born during the year must live with you for more than half the time between her birth and the end of the year.
