My oldest dependent turned 18 on 07/31/20 and made more than the standard deduction but did not cover more than half of his living expenses. How do we go about filing this year?

You do not report your son's income on your return.

As he is aged under 19 at the end of 2020 and did not provide more than half of his own support, you can claim him as a dependent.

As his income is more than the standard deduction of $12,400, he is required to file a tax return..

On his tax return, he has to indicate in TurboTax that he can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.
