My husband & I work from home & have our own home offices. When doing the home office section, do we each enter the total mortgage interest amount, or do we split it?

Enter the total under each home office. Then, based on the square feet of the individual office versus the square feet of the whole house, a portion of the mortgage interest would be claimed for each home office.

Do double-check the amount that is claimed on Schedule A for the remaining mortgage interest not claimed as part of a home office to be sure it is not overstated.
