Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

It is telling me I overfunded my HSA and I need to withdraw when I did not overfund my HSA.

I marked that I am in a HDPP, I checked with the company where my HSA is through and confirmed that I did not over contribute. The amount  it is telling me I over contributed is the amount I contributed overall and  it is well under the limit.

Your HSA contribution is reported in box 12 of your W-2 with the code W(combined HSA contributions from you and your employer).

Make sure you didn't accidentally re-enter the amount already listed (from box 12 of your W-2) as this will incorrectly double your total contribution amount.

To revisit that section:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Click on Deductions and Credits.
  3. Search for hsa and select Jump to hsa.
  4. Answer the questions until you get to the Let's enter your HSA contributions screen.
