In 2008, my grandfather passed away and left his property to my father, my sister and myself. The property includes approximately 180 acres of land. In 2019, we sold 60 acres of the inherited property

How do I find fair market value of the property at the time my grandfather passed?

You find a property appraiser and explain you need an appraisal to value the property for the date your G-father passed. Its really that simple.

As a last resort, you would use the tax valuation records in the county property tax appraiser's office. But that's a last resort because the county property appraiser will always value the property at significantly less than it's real FMV value. That would mean a much more significant taxable gain on the sale.
