If I paid all the real estate tax on my 2nd home, can I split the real estate tax deduction with a relative?

I'm the register owner of the house, but my relative co-sign the loan for the house.

If I paid all the real estate tax on my 2nd home, can I split the real estate tax deduction with a relative?

One can only deduct property tax on property he/she owns and actually pays for out of pocket.

So, splitting the property tax expense will not benefit you or the relative in question-you should deduct the entire payment
