I work 2 hours away from work, can I claim the mileage?

Only mileage associated with a business you own can be deducted as a business expense under 2023 federal tax law. Vehicle use associated with your job as an employee is not deductible in 2023. Besides, commuting miles from home to work would not be deductible even for a business owner.
