I will be signing a rent to own agreement for the house we live in. I currently pay the taxes. Am I able to deduct the property taxes on my return?

You can’t deduct property tax if you don’t own the property.

Sorry, you must be the legal owner against whom the taxes are assessed.

(If there is a mortgage, and you pay the mortgage interest, that might be deductible under the "beneficial owner" rule.  We could discuss that further.  But there is no "beneficial owner" rule for property taxes, you must be the legal owner against whom the taxes are assessed.)
