how do i do that with the online deluxe version of the software?

To enter home office expenses in Turbo Tax:

Select Federal Taxes
Select Deductions and Credits
Select Show More at Employment Expenses
Select Start at Job Related Expenses

Go through the screens in this section.  At Home Office Expenses, select yes.

Employment Expenses are considered part of Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions.  The total of all Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions must be more than 2% of adjusted gross income to be included in the calculation of itemized deductions.
