Yes, you can delete your vehicle expenses from your tax return.
I am assuming that you tried to deduct mileage in the Job Related Expenses section. If that's not right, reply back with more details about where you entered your mileage.
Here's how to delete the vehicle expenses, or the entire job Related expenses section in TurboTax Online:
- Sign in to TurboTax.
- Select Deductions & Credits.
- In the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, then Tools.
- Select Delete a form, from the list in the pop-up window.
- Check the list for Form 2106 (Name) -- Vehicle Expenses Worksheet (Vehicle) to delete just your mileage; or select Form 2106 (Name) to delete the entire Job Related expenses section, select Delete next to the form.
- Confirm your Delete, select Continue.
- If you have a state return, check for a vehicle expenses worksheet under your state, and delete that as well.
