I made a contribution to my HSA via direct deposit. Is this tax deductible? Turbo Tax asks for a 1099 but I did not take a distribution, only a contribution to the HSA.

If HSA contributions are tax deductible, how do I file that with the IRS? Turbo Tax asks for a 1099 but I did not receive one since the 1099 is for HSA distributions not contributions.

under the deductions and credits tab you should see a reference to HSA. click the link to update or enter

continue on until you reach a page that asks if you put money in an HSA in 2023. click yes

on the next page you enter the contributions you made personally.
