I am going to get married in October 2019 but my spouse will not visit the US before 2020. Am I eligible for standard deduction for my spouse?
I am going to get married in October 2019 but my spouse will not visit the US before 2020. I am currently on F1 OPT visa. My spouse has never visited the US and won't be visiting before 2020.
Am I eligible for standard deduction for my spouse via filing jointly?

What is the citizen/residency status of both you and your spouse? If not a U.S. citizen or a resident alien then not only do you not get the standard deduction, you also can't use any version of the TurboTax software to complete your tax return. A non-resident must file the 1040-NR which is not included in TurboTax. But there is another online service you can use at www.sprintax.com

I am currently on F1 OPT, staying in US for three years now. My spouse would be coming on F2 in 2020.
