HSA Accounts

I have a HDHP with my employer for my daughter and I and put pre-tax dollars into an HSA. My daughter and I use the HSA to pay for any of our medical expenses (doctor visits, testing, etc). My husband is not on my plan as his employer pays for his health plan (there is a charge to add dependents but it is at a higher cost than we are willing to pay). Can I include the medical expenses my daughter and I pay through our HSA if we have not met our deductible and are only including the amount we are responsible for. My husband had some high medical expenses last year and I think itemizing will be better than the standard deduction. Everything I have read says that nothing paid through an HSA is qualify as an itemized deduction.

HSA Accounts

No.

Medical expenses paid and reimbursed by a HSA account can't be claimed as medical expenses in Itemized deductions.
