How to enter US-based Capital Gains taxed by Foreign Country (US citizen, German resident)?

I'm a US citizen, living in Germany. As such, Germany has the right to first taxation on all my US Capital Gains. So, I get 1099-INT & 1099-DIV from US sources, but I owe German taxes. How do I enter this to avoid double-taxation? Thx!

How to enter US-based Capital Gains taxed by Foreign Country (US citizen, German resident)?

As a US citizen, you are subject to US taxation on your worldwide income. Enter all of your income in TurboTax. If you paid foreign taxes on your capital gain income, you may qualify for the Foreign Tax Credit.

In TurboTax Online, go to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid under Deductions & Credits and select Foreign Tax Credit to enter your information about the foreign taxes paid. TurboTax will determine whether you qualify for the credit.

Please see this article for more information on the Foreign Tax Credit, Form 1116, and this article on other foreign tax issues from TurboTax.
