How does turbo tax know I should use a standard deduction without all my information?

I have not put my income or all of my other deductions in yet and they said I should use the standard deduction. I don’t understand.

Once you finish entering all your income and deductions, TurboTax will adjust and update the message it is giving you.  The program just bases the statement that you "should use standard deduction" on what it has so far.
