How do I know if the Hope Credit or American Opportunity credit was used in previous years? All were filed with Turbo Tax.

You would find that information by reviewing your returns for the previous years to see if either the Hope Credit or the American Opportunity Credit was claimed.

• If you used the TurboTax Desktop CD/Download version installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  You may also have stored the file on an external device such as a flash drive, etc.   TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop edition
• If you used TurboTax to file that year and used the Online version, you can sign in using the same User ID and password you previously used and the previous year's return information will be available on the Tax Timeline for that year.
