Hi...I filed my taxes then realised I don't remember entering anything about my house or car taxes. Did I miss something? What should I do now?

UPDATED FOR TAX YEAR 2019

Go back in and review your return to check on what you entered.  To do this, follow the steps in this article:  How can I access my return after I've e-filed or printed it?

Check your Schedule A to see if you included the entries.  If you didn't, you can amend your return to include those figures.

Since you have already filed you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.

  • If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account, make the changes to your tax return, and re-submit your return.
  • If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and mail it in.

Please see the instructions contained in this FAQ to amend your return:  How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed
