Form 8815 and AOC

I caused out a savings bond to pay for college for myself. My daughter also attended college.  I want to use my expenses for the 8815 form to exclude some of the interest.   Then on my daughter's I want to use hers for the AOC credit.  I don't want to double dip.  Am I allowed to do this?

You can pay taxes on the bond interest to claim the AOTC. You only need $4,000 of qualified tuition and expenses to claim the full amount. The rest of the bond interest can be deducted on form 8815
