For the first 6 mnths of 2016 I was under a HDHP with a HSA. I changed jobs on July 1 to a firm with a typical health plan an FSA. Can I not deduct my HSA contribution?

Yes, you can deduct the contributions you made to your HSA for the first 6 months of 2016 before your new job took place.

On the page, Were you enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) in 2016? Select 'no', then continue to next page to enter the months covered and calculate the Max Contribution Limit.
