When completing the Federal review within TurboTax it is looking for additional deductions and the first question is it asks if I am covered by a retirement plan at work. Not sure how to answer that because I am retired and I receive a 1099R from my employers pension. So how should I answer that question about a retirement plan at work? I thought I should answer no because I am no longer employed but I recieve a W2 for benefits they have paid on my behalf but I can't contribute the retirement plan so I am no longer employed and retired. How should I respond to that question??

In your case, you should answer: No, you aren't covered by a retirement plan at work.
Your are covered if you receive a form W-2 with Box 13 - Retirement plan checked.

Thank you and BOX 13 of my W2 is NOT marked and yes I do believe I should mark it NOT COVERED. Thanks for your help!
I am retired also but my retirement payments end of the year form is a 1099R not a W2. Is no still the correct answer?
