Excess HSA Contributions

Having an issue with the software inputting excessive HSA contribution. I started medicare July 1, 2023 and stopped contributing to my HSA June 30, 2023. The question asked in the software is the excess contribution in 2022. any help would be appreciated.

Are you referring to this question "Did you overfund your HSA in 2022?".

If you did, as the screen notes, the excess amount of HSA contributions carried over will appear on the 2022 5329 Line 48.

PLEASE NOTE, if you made an excess HSA contribution in 2022 but "cured" it by withdrawing the excess prior to April 15, 2023, then answer NO to this question.
