EV Tax Credit when filing status changes

We got married in 2023. We bought EV in 2023 on my wife's name. We are filing jointly for 2023 and do not qualify for the credit. However, in 2022 my wife who filed as single qualifies based on her income. How can I get the credit? The tool asks me to enter my 2022 income which is higher. Can I instead put my wife's 2022 income? Or should I redo all my taxes with my wife as primary filer for 2023?

Try entering your wife's 2022 income instead of yours.

There is really no provision on Form 8936 itself or within TurboTax to provide a different filing status for the prior tax year.  You can only enter the prior year's income as requested.
