Dual Status or Resident Alien

Dear Sir or Madam,

I moved  to US together with my family in July 01 2023 from Germany. I am currently on a L1B Visa.

Based on what I read from IRS, I am a resident alien at the end of 2023 as I stayed in US for longer than 183 days in 2023. May I ask if I am a dual status alien or resident alien in this case. 

I also read form IRS website, that a dual status alien are allowed to select to be considered as resident alien for the whole year too. Does that mean if I am not sure if I am a dual status alien or resident alien, choosing to be considered as a resident alien for the whole year will be a simpler way to go?

Resident alien is certainly the easier way to go.  And since you were here for more than 183 days it is the proper way to file the return.
