Community property is not a status for filing but a way to determine how to distribute income between the spouses.
Every community property state has somewhat different laws.
But it is likely that all of them would say that you do not need to split the income you earned before you got married. Generally, it is everything that each of you bring to the community during the marriage that get shared.
