whatever address you use, anything the IRS sends will be to that address. Should it be a notice that requires a timely response you may permanently lose some rights if you don't respond within that time frame. If the stay in the foreign country will be long term, then use the foreign address. in the future, if you know you'll be moving file form 8822 with the iRS for the new address.
