The criteria for the Child Care Tax Credit is:

 

  1. A dependent child cannot have turned 13 in the taxable year.
  2. If you’re married, you must file as married filing jointly.
  3. You must have a job with earned income
  4. You must provide the care provider’s name, address and Taxpayer Identification Number

 

The Child Care Credit can get 20% to 35% of up to $3,000 of of the cost of child care for a child under  the age of 13.
