Child care credit self employed

HI I have paid quite a bit of money for child care in 2015 so I can run my business.  I am self-employed.  I have input this into the turbo tax system but it is saying IM not eligible for the credit because I have no tax to pay.  However I see that I still have $2000 in self-employment tax being subtracted. Im I doing something wrong or confused?  Thanks for any help 🙂

Child care credit self employed

The child care credit is non-refundable. It can only be used to offset calculated income tax. It can not be used to offset "other" taxes like self-employment tax.
