Can my girlfriend share living expenses such as mortgage, and utilities without violating the 10k rule? I don't want the money she sends me to be considered income.

I don't want to be accused by my bank of structuring related to the 10k rule. Im not running a second business. She is not paying rent.  We are sharing expenses and living together but are not married yet. We do not have plans to get married yet. With inflation and the cost of everything going up, her monthly reimbursement will be over 10 k in one year. Any advice or suggestions?

Generally, if you're in a trade or business and receive more than $10,000 in cash in a single transaction or in related transactions, you must file Form 8300.

See https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/form-8300-and-reporting-cash-payments-...

This is trade or business reporting for cash received.
