Can I deduct prescription medicine copay?

Yes, you can enter this in as a medical expense.

  1. Go to federal>deductions and credits
  2. Medical>Medical expenses
  3. As you navigate through the section, there will be a place to enter prescriptions.

Note. Medical expenses are itemized deductions subject to a 7.5% AGI limitation. If you enter the expense but do do see a difference in your tax return, it means you do not have enough to itemize or the medical expense is not in excess of 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for the year.
