Yes, You can change your child's last name.

However, it must match what is on his Social Security card or ITIN card.

If you have not filed yet, you can change the name by

1.  Going to My Info.
2. Scroll down to the child.
3. Open the information, and change the name.

If you've already filed and got rejected.

1. Log into TurboTax. 
2. Select Fix my return 
   1. You can see your rejection code and explanation. 
3. Click on Fix it now and follow the instructions to update the info causing the reject. 
4. Once you've fixed the error, select File in the left menu and follow the instructions to either e-file or file by mail.

It's unlikely you will have to amend your tax return.

Your child's SSN/ITIN match, and it went through.
