Are dental savings plans deductable?

Yes! these are medical expenses.

To enter Dental insurance:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax
  2. Click on Federal (left)
  3. Click Deductions & Credits (at the top)
  4. Scroll down to the Medical section, click on Show more
  5. Click Start or Revisit next to Medical Expenses
  6. You may enter amounts paid for Dental or Medical insurance not included on your W2. Enter these under Medical insurance premiums paid.

Enter insurance premiums you paid for things like:

  • Medical care
  • Hospitalization
  • Surgical fees
  • X-rays
  • Inpatient care
  • Dental care
  • Prescription medicines
  • Hearing care
  • Vision
  • Membership payments for HMOs
