Am i considered a resident Alien for tax purposes As a F1

Let's say I joined a school in the USA as a f1 student for four years of High school which I did not file taxes. Maybe I was a minor or my school had it covered I had a break for a year now I'm in college in the US again. would the counter pause in my one-year of break or would I be a resident alien for tax purpose
