Adopted Child name and SSN Changed. How to manage adoption credit.

We have 4 adopted children, finalized in 2019.  This year we were finally able to get new SSN that reflect their names, which were changed at adoption. 
Previous years we have had to file using their old names and SSN, and our adoption credit carryforward has that information.
When I changed the names and socials on the dependent screen this year, it dropped my adoption credit carryforward amount.
Do I just enter their new names and SSNs as adopted children and put the carry forward amounts from my 2021 return?

Yes, that would work.  It's understandable that TurboTax thinks they are four new children since all the data changed.  Just manually enter the carryforward amount.
